I'm looking for sports stores in S. Seoul area. Gangnam preferably. It's amazing but there aren't any in places like COEX or the Lotte and Hyundai Department stores. They have sports sections but it's hardly a good selection and most of it is is golf and hiking equipment. I'm thinking more along the lines of a Sports Chalet or something...

When I first came to Korea, I remember feeling the same frustration. I spent many days wandering around looking for a sporting goods store and always came home empty handed.

The solution that I found was to open a gmarket account (an online store) and order whatever it is you need from there. Most of the stuff on gmarket is much cheaper than if you purchased it in a store and they deliver quickly.

Give it a try, it'll make your life much easier.

Hoss.

I already have one, also a 11st account. But as you might know, with some sporting goods it's better to feel it in your hand, take some swings, especially if you're going to drop a few hundred dollars on equipment.

Sports district near Dongdaemun Stadium. That's where the sports stores are at, but many are moving. Use naver or daum and do a search - you'll find that the big ones will be clustered around that area.

If you walk from Dongdaemun Stadium Station (Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station) to Sindang Station you will see several sporting goods stores.
