|
|
So today I went and attempted to use Gmarket for the first time-its not looking like it went so well
I transferred the money into the Gmarket account I had set up from an ATM machine; it displayed my name etc. at the time so I'm pretty sure the problem isn't that I put in incorrect account details-but I have yet to receive an email confirming the transfer and my Gaccount balance hasn't changed. I'm starting to stress over it here 'cos my understanding is that transfers are typically immediate. I've just realised that the usual thing to do when using Gmarket is to order the item first and THEN deposit the money. I deposited the money first thinking I could order later.
Can anyone advise me on where I went wrong here? Your help would be greatly appreciated |

| I did this once and the money didn't appear in my Gmarket account til a couple of hours later. I find that using my debit card to pay is much faster. |

After trying out the Gaccount balance once I just found it was faster and simpler to pay online using my debit or credit card
1. Set up Gaccount and get the account number to transfer money to. You only do this once though.
2. Transfer the money into it (I did it online but it took a couple of hours though Gmarket states it should take a maximum of 20 minutes). If you kept money available in your Gaccount then maybe this would be more convenient, but why should I keep my money with Gmarket instead of my bank account?
3. Check to see if the seller got paid.
Do a bank transfer or credit card payment instead for quicker results. |

I have been shopping on Gmarket for a while and I always have this problem with them.
Your transfer might show up a few hours later or even the next day. I have never had it show up within the 10-20 minute window that Gmarket claims.
I leave about 10-20,000W in my Gmarket account in case I see something I want and need it in a hurry (I buy cheap gifts for my students all the time - I get a good haul for under 10,000W).
I wouldnt put serious cash into Gmarket though. |

| Just be careful that all the names match. I deposited from my account that had my middle name attached, and had a nightmarish 6 weeks of sending and resending redundant proof that I was actually the same person before they released 200, 000 won.... |

| Did you send less than 20,000W? I find that if I send less than 20,000w it's not instant. If I send over 20,000 it shows up instantly. |
