Hi everyone,
I've been doing a bit of research both on Dave's and across the internet for public school programs/jobs that are not EPIK or GEPIK. I'd be very interested to hear your recommendations on programs you have heard of or applied through.
Many Thanks! |

well GEPIK actually is a part of EPIK.
Are you asking about Korean public schools?
Lots of school boards do their own hiring.
I know Ulsan seems to always be hiring (UMOE). |

They also hire independently, although you would then be under an EPIK contract usually. |

Thanks for the advice. I have an application into GEPIK, but I'm not overly confident since there seems to be very little to no funding for new positions. I have applied to Ulsan MOE and should be hearing soon. I'll keep my eyes on the jobs board and keep in touch with my recruiter to see what else it out there.
If anyone hears of an available position or opportunity, PM me!! |

What you are probably looking for are privately run public schools. These often recruit outside of EPIK/SMOE/GEPIK. Keep an eye on Dave's and try to get a recruiter who understands what you want ( I know ). Often these schools are more negotiable when it comes to vacation, pay, and more importantly 'desk warming'. Many are religious schools, but so long as they aren't semi-cults or take 10% for the church you should be ok (talk to previous/current teachers). |
