This kind of young people nonsense is why I don't take anything young people have to say seriously.

Some of the poses were fairly interesting. I like the dancing flash mobs better. It looked like a lot of fun, nonetheless. Hooray for expression!

The guy at 1:34 is flashing the "crip killer" symbol. He looks Korean or gyopo, so his gang affiliation has not been uncovered with a CBC.

It would be fun to walk into them or throw things at them while they stood there.

I think a mob has to be a bit larger, guys... perhaps you should reach outside the expat community next time you plan such an event.

For me, this "flash mob" suffered from the same problem that the first one did at COEX a few years ago. Everyone pretty much stood around each other in one big cluster and posed, which to me totally ruins the surreal effect a well-planned mass freeze can have in a large public space. At COEX, security was on the spot before they even began because the crowd was so conspicuous.

The planning and execution of the one done in NYC was flawless. It took people a while to notice what was happening gradually by walking around...seeing 30 people standing around in a circle obviously posing takes away a lot of wow factor, and the ones done here seem to have been put together pretty lazily.

I wonder if you're as hypocritical in real life as you are on the internet.

This one looked particularly bad. The thing about something like a flash mob is that it's cool until it becomes something, at which point it becomes the height of lameness. That said, while I would never participate in one, they're utterly harmless, so I really don't see what all the hate is about.
