Looking for an economic place to crash in Hongdae. It's doesn't have to be the ritz, but I would prefer something that's not sleazy. Also prefer something close to the music venues. Any suggestions? |

Ann Guesthouse is decent enough, and it's close to everything.
Google it for details. |

There is a small yogwon on the corner of the main road a straight shot from HongDae's main gate. Cross the main intersection and keep going straight. It's on the right.
Then again, if you just walk around, you'll bump into a load of goshiwon. Across the main road (go out exits 1 or 2), there are a load of hotels/guest houses. If you don't mind paying a bit more, the Sogyo Hotel is right on the main road around the corner from the university. |

If you're at hongdae, might as well go to shinchon since its close and there are a lot more hotels there. |

Thanks, everyone. Is there anything within walking distance of the Duriban? Is that relatively close to the Hongik University exit? I just got here; this will be my first weekend in Seoul. |

everything is within walking distance. there are tons of places to stay in the area. Hell, you could crash in a sauna if you are really looking at staying on a budget. |

second this.
i always end up paying too much for booze/food in hongdae so i trick myself into some bizarre rationalization that it all evens itself out if i stay at a sauna for the night. i wake up feeling good about myself for spending only 10,000 won for the night AND for a nice relaxing shower/hot tub the next morning.
then i try to recall how i dropped 300,000 the night before. this is never a happy recollection...
but i instantly realize two drawbacks to staying at a sauna:
A) if you want to bring a girl (or guy) back
B) if you are staying for more than a few days and need someplace for your luggage |

How much are the motels around Sinchon?
I've read you can find many in the 40,000 to 50,000 range.
Is that correct? Are there usually plenty of vacancies? |
