Well, a politician is trying to anyways. The dude even mentioned the Chinese ban on lip-syncing at the National Assembly, because apparently we really need to immitate the Chinese more. I'm astounded by the progressiveness of my fellow countryman and I'm glad there are people being active about such important issues. I mean cuz, really, we really need a fricking law on lip-syncing.
It was on the news last night and you can find a bunch of articles on naver or something if you can read Korean and don't mind the numerous pop-up ads that typically come with Korean sites. |

I'm not generally for too much legislation, but this seems pretty reasonable to me. It doesn't seem like a fair deal paying to see a singer then hearing a recording you could've heard at home
On the other hand... I wonder if this law will affect me. I tend to lipsync in the classroom |

| But if they ban lip-syncing, how will every single talentless K-poop group be able to perform live? Ridiculous! |

Is this legislation only done for things like KPop shows? I mean, what other possible use is this law?
Either way, I support it. Gotta love stuff like this that sets up plenty of hilarious train wrecks. |

Pitch-correction has been honed to perfection by a music industry obsessed with looks rather than talent.
Did anyone actually believe these "entertainers" could sing and dance like that in the first place? Look at a 2PM performance where they flop around like half-assed epileptic breakdancers and supposedly keep singing in perfect unison the whole time. |

I don't see anything wrong in the pop industry with lip-syncing......as long as they don't try to kid anybody that they aren't lip-syncing.
Most Korean teenagers couldn't care less.....they only really care about seeing the famous beautiful people and the dance moves.
Maybe there should be a regulation that a sign must be shown at the entrance to concerts that reads, "Not live vocals" or something. |

Fortunately pitch correction can be done in real time.
While I would probably never pay to watch K-pop live, am I the only one who would prefer lip-syncing to a real performance which makes me feel like I could have done better myself? (Take into account that I am a horrible horrible singer) You just have to consider lip syncing (and live K-pop) as a show and not as a singing performance. |
