I've been told that Ginger is a good remedy for morning sickness.
Does anyone know where I can get any?
Also, has anyone come across ginger chocolates?
I'd be grateful for any information. |

Just go to your local/neighborhood market. It's quite cheap. Most likely you'll buy the one with dirt all over it, so you'll need to wash it and do whatever it is you want to do with it. Less than 1,000 for some roots I think. -T |

Ginger grated into hot water with lemon and honey is really great for morning sickness! As Tembo said, any vegetable market or the vege section of your local supermarlet will have ginger, wash it and don't forget to peel! Ginger in Korean is 'seng gang'. Also lie in bed a bit longer than you usually would in the morning and nibble an Ace Cracker or some dry boring snack with water before you get up.
Anyone know where to get umeboshi (sp) plums? They are japanese salted and pickled plums, taste foul but are good for m.s. |

I've never seen ginger chocolates here. They are incredible. Let me know if you find some. |

Another thing you can try is the ginger tea- basically the ginger, some honey and hot water. Go to the tea and coffee aisle in the supermarket, and it should be in a jar- not a box.
Intergalactic- wish you'd asked about the plums a few days ago- I just got back from Japan. Maybe you could ask someone on a visa run to pick some up? |

Yup... Saeng gang. Available everywhere and I would recommend the locla markets. I absolutely love it... from tea to stir fry to candied ginger... yummmmm
Ginger should be firm and moist. If there is dirt on it, choose the freshest, moistest dirt one. When cutv or broken open, there should be a bit of moisture (damp). Beware old ginger! |

Thanks guys, and thanks Intergalactic for your suggestions and giving me the Korean word - so that I can actually ask for it!
Cheers! |
