so those of you familar with my hogwon last year will know it was not a nice place to work for. At the end of the contract my boss "negiotated" a 300k deduction from my last pay cheque (in so far as she would claim 300k of deductions for one thing, I would disprove it and she would claim a 300k in deductions for another). So a few days ago I get a phone call from my replacement saying that they have money for me! Don't know how much coinage I have coming my way but totally bizzare....

nuts and stupid?

Maybe she got all your bills in and realized the mistake? Or, maybe she wants to be able to tell the other teachers how good it was when you were there.

well considering I had only moved in 4 days before I left and she my final bill for my two former apartments she didn't need to deduct it.... totally bizzare.

Seems excessive, but at least you are going to recover some of it. It's all about control. Don't worry about it, just accept that it's part of the warped Korean phyche. Smile
