Was wondering if anyone could tell me a few things about Dongtan in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. I have a contract with a school there but not too much information about the city itself.

I live 30 minutes from Dongtan. Dongtan is a brand-new planned community and it's really nice and spiffy. It's a fairly small area, but there are movie theaters, shopping malls, restaurants, parks, and even a small ice skating rink. Not a whole lot of nightlife, though, just a couple of bars where foreigners frequent. I've found the foreigner community in Dongtan quite friendly. There's a regular bus to Gangnam in Seoul (takes about 45 minutes I think), as well as buses to nearby Suwon.

Dongtan has a pretty big foreigner population and most people seem to really like it. They also have a facebook page (Dongtan Clan). We live about 30 minutes away from Dongtan and to be honest, the rest of Hwaseong is dead. There's not a lot to do out here.

Yeah I have been watching a bunch of his videos, which has helped fill in the blanks for me.
