I have decided to transfer schools within the province (Gyeongnam) at the end of my contract because my town is very isolated and the buses stop running way too early in the evening. However my school will give me absolutely no information on what is involved in the process of transfering schools(it seems they have taken this as a slight against them, even though i explained to them that I loved the school and really wanted to continue working there - I even offered to commute from a city, but they told me they wouldn't allow that, even though every single teacher at the school does that >_>. I just can't handle the isolation anymore. I want to make Korean friends, but I can't when the only two age groups in town are 1-19 and 45+. All I have been told is that its up to the Office of Education to decide where I go, I cant make any requests....

Seeing as I am getting absolutely no assistance from my coteachers and I'm essentially being thrown to the sharks even though my reason for moving is genuinely a good one and I have tried to meet them half way....so I was hoping that someone on here could fill me in on what I have to do to move to a school I want to go to and know there is an opening at...I have a feeling that if I sit around and twiddle my thumbs, Im going to lose out, which would suck as I love teaching and love korea

There is usually a Kyopo(Foreigner of Korean decent who speaks Korean) that works in every education office. These are the best people to help you in this kind of situation. They can act as a go-between they understand both cultures and languages. It's basically their job to help you. In most cases this person is supposed to let you know they exist.
Try to find out who this person is and start a dialogue lots of these people are also on facebook.
