I applied for my pension two days before I left Korea. I ended my contract early but I gave notice, and I told the officers at the pension office that I'd quit. She told me that I would receive my pension in 1 weeks time and would email me about it. However, I have not received an email nor gotten my money. Also, they were trying to get me to deposit my money into my Korean bank account and I had to print out an online statement of my American account to prove that the account was mine.
Is this normal and how long does it usually take to get one's pension? |

If all the contributions were up to date it typically takes about 30 days AFTER your departure.
If they are waiting for the final contributions or if your employer is tardy it can take up to 10-12 weeks.
