This is a little late, but better than never. On Friday night we stumbled across Beer Lao mixed in with the imported snacks at the Uijeongbu Homeplus. Bottles were being sold for 1,610 won. I'm not sure if this was going on elsewhere. Homeplus is inconsistent like that. However, I thought some of you might be excited by Beer Lao in Korea. I know I was and still am!

That's really cheap for a great beer. I might have to make a trip to Home Plus.

Chang is far superior to any Korean beer, but not Lao.

Beer Lao is generally regarded as the best of the SE Asian beers, and i see no reason to disagree. As for Chiang, Bud, Miller, Coors, no difference. I buy Chang because its so much less expensive than the other beers in Thailand such as Singha.

Chang is pretty nasty. I always have arguments with myself about whether I should drink Chang on the cheap or spend a bit more for decent beer in Singha or Tiger.

It was the same price at the Ori Homeplus in Bundang yesterday. Think I'm gonna have to go pick up some more.

I went back today and bought 15 more. I was going to buy them all, but I thought I should leave some in case someone saw this thread and went looking for some.

Are they selling these beers only in or around Seoul?

I didn't really like beer until I tasted that stuff in Southeast Asia, and I haven't had a drop in almost a year...
