...or whatever it's called.
Hi. Started working a month ago. Got a bill today for maintenance and electricity.
It's for 90,000 for one month. I was shocked at this.
Is that normal?
I asked my co-teacher to break it down for me. Only 7,000 was electricity. The rest was building maintenance, elevator, bins etc.
Is it a normal amount? |

Depends. If you're living in a nice apartment building with security, elevators, someone cleaning the hallways etc., that sounds about right. If you're in a villa-type arrangement, you're being ripped. |

I come home to a dull grey lobby, get a lift to a floor that looks like a cold war-era power station.
It is anything but flash.
Can some other people post what they pay so I can get an average?
Thanks.
PS What's the payment actually for? It seems alot of money for bins and the enjoyment of using an elevator. |

I pay about what you do, but our building's got security, parking lots, and kiddie playgrounds. Also, I'm about 25 minutes from Seoul by train. |

Mine was 90,000 last year. My place was dull, drab, unkempt, and the elevator rarely ever worked. I complained a lot, but nothing ever happened.
This year it's 75,000 and the apartment is nicer. I am on the first floor, so I'd be upset if they charged me an elevator fee, though I am shocked they don't.
I've heard of decent places charging upwards of 150,000, but never more. |

Yeah, but I don't really use either, as my place is pretty well-insulated and am pretty high up so's I can catch them cool breezes |

Last year in an office tel with an elevator and worthless security guard/napster: ~85,000.
The year before that: 10,000
And this is my biggest and best apt. (two rooms) to date. Go figure. |

A lot of it depends on what kind of place you have. Officetels usually have some of the highest maintenace fees. Over 100,000 a month is not at all uncommon. "Apartments" vary a lot. Villas are generally low/non-existent. In my case I pay 35,000 a month for maintenace (2 bedroom apartment, big complex with 20 indentical buildings). When I lived in an officetel 3 years ago I was paying 120,000. |

Usually was about 20,000 (water/sewage/cleaning) which didn't include electricity (villa's don't have elevators). So, with electricity it'd be anywhere from 30k-90k...My new place will be 100,000 that includes elevator, water, and sewage (no gas and elect)....hope that helps! |

210,000!!
It more or less depends on how many units (apartments) are in your complex......the more units, the cheaper the maintenance fee. My complex only has about 250 units so we pay more than usual. |

About 100k for maintenance, and more for electric and water. I usually pay about 125k, but can pay as much as 180k during the summer when we have the air conditioning on almost full time. |
