It's a tremendous waste of resources to use SWAT for this. Most likely there is something else but the fact is we don't know because a lot of info has not been disclosed.

This is a fantastic use of resources! This was the perfect training opportunity in a real-life situation that the SWAT team got.

Hah, yes, training on how to subdue an unarmed passive civilian and his three children.

Buy the kids pizza and give the dude $50. Subdued!

.... O_O

Okay...well, I guess I should remember to speak even more kindly to the Sallie Mae reps on the phone.

Nowhere near repaying yet, I just graduated two days ago. Here's to a (hopefully) short road to getting out of debt.

The Army paid off my student loans. I've been debt free since I was 19!

I was Director of Social Services at a nursing home in Chicago a few years ago.
I was training my replacement beacause I was going to move to PA to get my Masters.
Well we were in my office going over some paper work, and I was paged to the lobby--3 U.S. marshalls were there looking for the woman I was training.
Apparently she had defaulted on her student loans a few years before, and they tracked her down through 2 states!
They do take it very seriously!
The stupid thing is student loan companies will work with you if you can't afford the payments for whatever reason--just contact them!

Anyhoo-she was taken out in handcuffs, and I had to hire someone else.

I refuse to believe that the people mentioned in this thread were chased down with warrants because they defaulted on their loans. Something else had to play into their scenarios. My reasoning comes from the fact that I know at least five people that have been in default on their loans for the past 15 years, and they have never experienced anything remotely similar.

Something else entirely is going on here. I could be wrong, but I think I'm right. Razz
