Sure, but anything can happen in a year and it depends on what candidate they get |

Obama is definitely vulnerable. We are in a bad economy and it could be similar to the elder Bush being a one term President when a recession hit him as well.
However, I think it largely depends on not only the economy but who heads the Republican ticket. If its Gingrich, Palin, Trump or someone like that I think its Obama's hands down. There are some Republicans that create a lot of emotion against them and the aforementioned are two examples.
Rand would have a strong shot. I don't know much about Pawlenty or others to say how they would do head to head.
If Obama gets Ohio he's in I think. Its such a decisive state. Not sure if he'll get Florida. Its a tough state to win for a Democrat and he has upset a lof of Jewish Americans who are prominant voters in that state. I think if a strong candidate is fielded and by that I mean someone who doesn't illicit a high level of animosity like Palin, then it could go down to the wire like the 2000 election. |

Ahhhh....well.......yes.
I think that people who voted for him are naive and silly; dare I say 'stupid'.
He has continued to tell lie after lie about various world affairs. We aren't going to get into that again, are we? He's no better than the guy before him. Actually, he's a better spokes person. But, he doesn't say much. It's a hard job. I'm not one of the birthers or tea party folks. I couldn't care less where the guy was born.
Everywhere I went in Europe and Asia after the election, people were professing their love for the new prez. I know some of that has changed recently.
With the recent 'assassination' of a 'world wide threat' to humanity I think that tons of sheep will go to the polls, shouting 'Barak' in all his glory.
That's a bit more elaborate, ye? |

People will even vote for movie stars. Of course they'll vote for Obaaama. Nobody can read scripted speeches from a teleprompter quite like him. |

I think a better question is: do the Republicans have a chance at beating Obama? I'd say they have much less a shot than the Dems in '04. |

I agree with bb.
To beat Obama the GOP is going to need a credible alternative, and so far they don't have one. That could change--Nov. '12 is a year and a half away. Right now though, the GOP is struggling to find someone that doesn't make them blush with shame.
To complicate matters for the GOP, the governors of Wisconsin, Maine, Michigan, and Florida are setting fires under the Democrats, which will make it that much harder to carry those states for the GOP.

Rand McNally? They make good maps, but that hardly qualifies them to become the first corporate head of state. How would that work anyway?
As for that dork senator from Kentucky... |

I expect to see Obama again for another 4 years. Not sure if Ron Paul is running or not but he won't be able to win with the limited money being brought in to run his campaign. I can't see any other Republican beating out Obama. |

Yes, November 2012 is eons away politically. That is about the only sliver of hope Republicans have!
Who they gonna run? They are still waiting for someone new to enter the race and save them. It's a joke.
And they have handed the Democrats an almost unbelievable gift with the Paul Ryan budget proposal which makes major cuts in medicare.
As Ya-ta said, some of their governors in key states are not helping them much either. Look what's happening in Florida:
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2011/05/26/obama_approval_spikes_in_florida.html
And one quick comment about the importance of getting Osama bin Laden that I think some people are missing. If nothing else, it takes "weak on terrorism" off the table in any future debates. That is huge for Obama.
Yes November 2012 is a long way away, but I like Obama's chances. |

The safe money is on Obama.

Yes, indeed. Thank you.
I will have to admit I agree with what you said, to a point. The folks don't want the massive debt, high unemployment and a socialist agenda (granted....that last part is in debate).
If the GOP can't come up with anyone worth their weight, than yes....I thin it will be Obama (kind of like the 04 election).
I also have to agree on the voting. I want to say that we Americans are not all that stupid and don't drink the media kool-aid....buuuuuuuut........I think you know where I'm going with this one. No need to for me to actually write it.

Rand Paul would be able to run as a more "liberal" alternative to the fascist-socialist perpetual warfare position of Obama. Unfortunately, Ron Paul is just too old now. His time has finally come, but too late.
Rand Paul is a leader in the oppostion to end the Patriot Act. Rand Paul is against the wars and would bring our troops home. Rand Paul would legalize pot. Paul could dance around Obama on both the "left" and "right." He is one of the few Republicans who could defeat Obama. Of course he's only a first term Senator.
Obama has nothing but a legacy of debt, bailouts, continuing recession, massive inflation being pretended away by government lies, neverending unemployment, housing collapse, three continuing wars, and police state attacks on civil liberties. Obama supports anything that is evil, fascist-socialism if it's popular with some special interest group.
Yes, Obama got Osama and that will be forgotten by November 2012. If he tries to use it he'll look bloodthirsty and desperate.
Republican neo-cons cannot win. Republican Christian-communists cannot win. Conspiracy nuts cannot win. None of the current field of announced or anticipated candidates can win.
The Republicans need to go in a moderate libertarian direction with a younger, fresh candidate if they are to have a chance to beat Obama.
There is a lot of time left for things to get worse for Obama.
John Stossel would be the best possible candidate:
