I moved here in March. And I'd like to meet some other climbers in my area. Or at least, others interested in rock climbing.

I've posted a similar message to KOTR, but hardly anyone reads/ responds to forum posts there.

So, if you live in/ near Anyang and you climb and speak decent English, message me :D

Get in touch with Peter from Sanirang Alpine Networks (sanirang.net). He runs climbing schools, guided climbs, etc. I'm climbing at Insubong (in Bukhansan National Park) with him tomorrow. He actually lives down Anyang way, but does most of his climbing up north. I did the beginner course with him in March/April and it was awesome. It's a company obviously, but if you did a few paying climbs with him, you'd meet lots of other keen climbers too. I'm still too beginner to just go climbing with other amateurs, but there are lots of people who climb with him who are quite experienced.

Hey, thanks for the response.

I've been climbing for about nine years. Sanirang is very much oriented towards traditional/ alpine climbing. I mostly enjoy bouldering and short routes. Nonetheless, do you think Peter would know English speaking climbers in Anyang?

There are plenty of fluent & conversational English speaking climbers up in Seoul. But they won't have much interest, for example, in visiting my area for some local bouldering. And I can't very well train or hang out with them on the weekdays.

I don't know. Why not join the Sanirang facebook page and ask him? From what I've observed, he knows heaps of people up north. Not sure about Anyang though. His climbers come from all around Seoul and Gyeonggido though, so you might get lucky.
