So liqueur making season has arrived in SK and the markets are selling Japanese plums, big jars and soju by the jug. But where's the rock sugar? It'd be preferable to use this vs. fine sugar for making liqueur but is the rock sugar just selling out or do Koreans just use fine sugar?
The only place I've found rock sugar is in the foreign food mart in Itaewon for 7000 won plus for maybe half a kilo which seems criminally expensive to me. Anyone find rock sugar anywhere else? |
