Is it possible for me to travel down to Busan from Seoul and take the beetle to Fukuoka, travel up through Japan, and then fly out from Tokyo? I've been reading some forums where people are saying you have to have a round trip for Japan. I know most advise against traveling that far in only a week, but I have people I have to visit.
Would it be an issue with immigration if that's how I plan to get in and out? |

I'm not sure why you want to take the Beetle, but you'd probably be better off booking a multi-city trip with Air Busan. They fly from Busan to Fukuoka, Osaka (Kansai) and Tokyo (Narita).
Their website is

I flew with them from Busan to Jeju and they were fine. They're a subsidiary of Asiana.
I'd also considering calling up Korean and Asiana directly and asking them how much a multi-city trip would be from Seoul.
Regardless of how you choose to go, I've flown in to Japan at least half a dozen times and Japanese Immigration has never asked to see my return ticket. |

Not an issue for Kimmi if you have an ARC.
Flying back can be an issue if you do not have an ARC (flying in on a visa waiver stamp).

Actually, if you call the JR Beetle (ferry) office in Busan, they might have a great deal for you. A group of friends are traveling to Fukuoka for about 100,000 return. Might need somebody who speaks korean to help you out though. |
