I got a puppy a few weeks ago, and got a pen to go around his cage. Unfortunately, he's an evil genius and has figured out that he can climb his cage and get out. Imagine my surprise when I got home from the bank, opened the door, and was greeted by an ecstatic dog and some shredded photos. We're looking to get a larger cage, but will be keeping him in his somewhat small (though still big for the little guy) cage while we're out until we find a larger cage (when we will post this barely-used, cost-us-40k, washed-thoroughly cage for sale as well.)
We have this barely used pen, though, that cost us 40k at Homeplus. It's great if you don't keep a climbable cage in it, but we just don't have the room for two separate doggie areas in the apartment, and the cage is his special little area, so we don't want to take that away (it's also good because we need him to feel secure in it if we have to travel with him or need someone to pet sit at their place.)
It's a hexagon, and practically new. If you can come to Incheon to pick it up, even better. I figure that 30k is a fair price. Let me know if you're interested. We need to make room for the larger cage we'll be getting.
EDIT: Price reduced to 25k

willing to drop the price if you come to Incheon. I've wasted a bit of money on cages, beds, etc, and just want to make a little of what I spent back. |

Bumpity bump.
Seriously nobody is interested? It still has glue from the sticker on part of it!
25k? I'm ordering a fairly expensive large cage today, so need to get rid of it. We've spent well over a million on pets this month (my other pet had to be put down after an unsuccessful cancer operation) so could use some of the cash back for this thing. |

Why don't you return it to Homeplus? |

I threw out the box and receipt 2 weeks ago. I'm using it as a makeshift fence now to block off the front door. It's not pretty, but it does the trick. If anyone is interested, it's still for sale. Otherwise, at least I've found a use for it. |

not really relevant to your post, but I find that getting an actual kennel (or a cage that closes and that you can use to ship your dog overseas) is a must
I trained my dog (took a month of whining) to sleep in it every night and I lock the cage when I leave or when I sleep, so that he can't get out and cause trouble
It's definitely a good investment and if you buy the one that;s certified for air travel, you can use it to ship your dog home (i've done it twice already)
so forget those homeplus pens and fences, just get a good kennel |

We already have one, so that's not an issue. We just wanted a pen to go around it so he'd have a bit of room to use the wee wee pads and not feel terribly boxed in. We decided to order a larger one and are just using the pen as a fence to block off the front door. We'll be selling the smaller cage in about a week, when the larger one arrives.
We also have a plastic travel kennel for when we leave Korea and either move to NY or London.
The pen is still for sale, though, if anyone wants it. Otherwise, we're using it as a makeshift blockade so that he can't get to the garbage bin, shoes, or front door.
Thanks for the advice. Our problem is that we bought too much stuff for the dude.
EDIT: We let the pup sleep at the foot of our bed (though I wake up every morning sharing my memory foam pillow with him ) but just want him cage trained for when we're out. When he's a little older, he'll have the run of the place, but for now, we want to cage train him while he's young so that he's prepared to travel, and is able to be pet sat if we have a long weekend somewhere. |

if you're expecting to take him back home soon, sell everything else except for the travel cage
I used to have two, one more comfy one for him to stay at home and one bigger one for travel, but because he never lived in the travel cage, he freaked out and had a serious PTSD case for about a month once he got back from Korea.
altho when we shipped him back here inside the same cage that he slept in, he was fine because he got used to it and found it quite cosy.
with dogs, it's all about the smell, so make sure to use the same cage he'll travel in, so he feels comfy... |

We'll be here for at least 1 more year. The new cage that we ordered it about 3 feet by 2.5 feet by 2 feet (he's a little dude) so he should have plenty of room. The small one that we'll be selling soon is about 2 feet by 1.7 feet by 1.5 feet. This was the largest one that we could find at Homeplus. Now, he has room, but we wanted him to have a LOT of room.
This is what we just ordered:

Is it okay to travel with a steel wire cage, or does it have to be the plastic kind? We'd really prefer to stick with the wire ones. The plastic carrier is what we would use if he has to go on a long car or subway voyage, but I'm thinking of just giving it to my friend who has a cat, as we haven't used it yet, and he does hate being boxed in. I figure, if we need to take him somewhere, I'll just carry him, as he's small so it shouldn't cause any sort of a problem. I wouldn't be that dog poop girl. I always carry wet wipes and a plastic baggie when we're out. |
