So I was browsing the front page of ESL Cafe (it actually has one! Wow!), and came across a link to this place:
http://www.thelanguagehouse.net/tefl-course2.htm#cost
Man, that's tempting. I've got enough funds to get there, and then I'll be broke. But the site makes it sound like work is easy to get over there...saving money, on the other hand...
Is anyone familiar with this, or does anyone have some brilliant opinion that I should hear? I just postponed my flight to Korea, so there's still a chance that I could do something random here. |

| I could be wrong, but now that the Czech Rep. is EU, it might be illegal for an American(you, right?) to teach "on the side". I'd check w/the Czechs before I'd go, if I were you.... |

A word of warning...
I looked, but couldn't find what actual qualification this course provides.
In Europe, most places will only accept teachers with TESOL or CELTA (preferred) certificates.
I think this is because there is a plethora of TEFL qualifications available, the quality of which is not easily quantifiable. |

| Thanks for the input. I'm looking for an eventual ticket to teaching in Europe for a few years. I'll keep this stuff in mind. Decided against the Prague thing. Too out of the blue. |

| What a great city. In my top 3. I regret that I didn't do some teaching there when I was younger and it wasn't EU. |

| Yea, I got no problems with the city itself...I just don't want to do a dodgy program with my limited funds and then find myself running to Korea anyways, bumming money from people the first two months. Too much stress. |

Been there, and had fun...but not a place to work. A co-worker worked there and came back to Korea, said 'no money dere.'
Shoosh,
