Building a rig for a buddy that plays MMOs, and is drooling all over the upcoming Final Fantasy 14. MMOs tend to be more CPU-bound than GPU-bound, so this is what I have spec'ed out for him. Budget is 550k won, hdd already purchased.
AMD Athlon II x4 640 109k
AsRock 770i Cafe 69k
Sapphire HD5830 148k
G.Skill 10600NQ 2x2gig 62k
FSP500-60APN 56k
CoolerMaster 430 Elite 65k
Samsung CD/DVD R-W 25k

Great entry level gamer build.
I noticed myself a few weeks ago how cheap that Sapphire 5830 is going for.......strange that it's a good 50k cheaper than other 5830's....but hey, I wouldn't look a gift horse etc....
The mobo is probably the weakest link....but if it works fine and has a high enough RAM transport speed, which I'm sure it has, then no problem. |
