Does anyone know how to get it to continue playing in the background?
I tried searching google for this but I guess I'm using too many terms that are in different questions |

I use motorokr headphones that have a built in remote. I never have a problem w/ music in the background. It doesn't sounds very helpful, but you might want to give headphones w/ a remote a shot; I love 'em.
Alternately, you could hit play and then longpress the home button (bringing up the task manager) and switch to whatever program w/o exiting the player.
Edit: on testing, I found that you can go right to the homescreen from the player w/o stopping the music. You're probably referring to the music player stopping when you open a program (android detects sound and responds by pausing the media player). I've gotten around it by using said headphones (really can't recommend them enough). |

Thanks.
When I open an mp3 file through searching my folders, the music player that pops up will only play in the foreground.
If I go to the music player application shortcut then choose a file to play there is no problem with the file stopping play when it goes into the background
It must be a settings issue that I haven't figured out yet |

Might be treating the way you open mp3 files differently. Make a playlist?
Alternatively, download PowerAMP. It's got a trial period so you can test it out but i'll guarantee you'll shell out the few dollars for it within a few days. |

Here's a weird question on the same topic kind of (mine plays in the background no problem).
How do I CLOSE the music player? With my Galaxy S I could just pause a song then use the back button and it would shutdown, but when I check the task manager on my SGS2 after doing this it's always still active and I have to nuke it from there. |

Also love the PowerAmp. It's worth the 5 bucks. |
