Seems like a pretty basic question, so I'm sorry if it's been answered numerous times, but I couldn't really find anything.

For public schools, is it better to apply directly to EPIK or go through a recruiter? It seems like going directly to EPIK will give you access to all the jobs, making using a recruiter pointless. It seems like public school recruiters only have access to certain jobs, just like in the private sector. Is there any advantage to using a recruiter? The only thing I can think of is maybe a recruiter will have a better chance of landing you a job in a location you want, rather than just getting randomly put somewhere by EPIK.

Does it even matter at all which way you apply?

I would appreciate any more information about this.

Hey, I'm new to this process so I can't offer lots of insight. But I've gone through ESL STARTER (so far I've had the interview and am waiting back). It's been good because some of my documents weren't quite right and they told me what to fix up / offered general support.

HOWEVER, I applied for Busan and then Seoul, and they didn't send off my lesson plan, so my results have been delayed by about a week (instead of 2-3 days) which is really lame.

If I get accepted into the first stage I have to forward my documents to them, and they forward them on to EPIK. In some ways I think I would have preferred to just do it myself, but there's something nice about having someone to email questions to = ) I think it's probably much of a muchness, really.
