I can't find anything yet J5.
The one sporting a mohawk is against policy, either he did it just for the night (or he's a dependent, not a soldier) .....or someone in the COC f'ed up.
Seems like a real dumb arse with his "middle finger" gesture.

Did anyone get hurt?

The wife told me about it. Surprised no one picked up on it before. A group of American soldiers were out on the town in Shinchon. Around 2 am (I thought they had a curfew??), drunk as can be, they stopped a taxi and proceeded to stand on the taxi and take pictures!!?? Of course, the taxi driver was pissed, and ended up in a big arguement with them. Another Korean joined the taxi driver, and one soldier pulled out a large knife ans stabbed the new Korean in the throat. The group takes off after this, but 10 Koreans (guess there were quite a few witnesses to the whole scene) jump the one guy who did all the stabbing, and hold him until the police arrive. Not sure how they all ended up at the police station really. I think they are back on base now. Don't know what is going to happen now, but seems like a pretty clear case of attemped murder to me. The knife was pretty big, like a hunting knife, and I couldn't imagine any sane reason for a soldier out for a night on the town with a large group of buddies needing that knife. No word on the Korean who was stabbed, if he is okay or not. That's all I know.

I know the Korean witness eyewitness they interviewed for the video report you can watch at the link above. He sells flowers in front of the DUnkin Donuts pretty much every day.

I remember him introducing his daughter to me back in '98 or so when I was waiting to meet a friend in front of DD.

The curfew is at 1, but I see soldiers out all the time after 1. The MPs are not doing a good job. All they would have to do is walk around the areas. They should give us a hotline to call if we see soldiers after 1. I'm serious about that. After 1, most of them are just drunk and get rude to women. Makes some of us look bad.

I hate to burst your bubble but after 1 it isn't just soliders that are drunk.... teachers and koreans are also known to be drunk and be rude to women.

If this information is correct, I wonder how long it will take until we have another burst of anti-western feeling similar to what happened with those two girls and the tank.

Yes, I realize that, but the drunk soldiers outnumber us and the drunk Korean men don't make the foreign men look bad.

Its sad cuz they are probably just "dumb kids from back home" (meaning thiscould easily have happened in N America) BUT over here its gonna hit the fan. Deservidly so... they are part of the reason i dont live "back home" any more.

Did you see the video? That "stab" was about the size of a pimple.

Not even a band-aid was on it.

The marines involved looked like white trash gang-bangers from the inner-city. They acted like it, too.

Really? I thought it was the foreign men that made the foreign men look bad. Most of the polite foreign men I have met in Korea have been soliders, I can't remember the last time that I had a door held for me by a teacher. On the other hand some of the most rude foreign men have been teachers....

Seriously though there are good and bad foreign teachers. And I will wager that the drunken Korean men WAY outnumber the drunken foreign teachers, as do the soldiers. Not all of us are drunken skirt-chasers "here for a good time not a long time" as the song goes.
