is it just me who thinks the idea of a 3 level fully purpose built club in Hongdae is dead exciting? |

Nup, dead exciting to me too.
Had a look around the website but it's a bit hopeless. Anyone got any idea where it is or when it will open?

There is a 'location' link and a map will pop up.. it's a moving one and not that clear. but if you know your way around Hongdae you can figure it out I guess...
It says 'coming soon - April 2004' |

Does this mean that the old basement Hodge Podge is closing? Where will I go for elbows in the ribs, unbreatheable air and dudes picking fights now?? |

I live in Hongdae and found myself totally bamboozled by that map... I think it's somewhere on the other side of the Buy The Way/Club Cargo street to most of the other clubs, could mean a whole fresh raft of bars in that area if it takes off? I'm getting ahead of myself.
Pokes in the ribs and threats of fighting- hmmm, how bout Stompers? |

its on the same street as by the way going towards hapjung and shincon. Not quite as far as Il Mare, but there is a restaurant that sells La Kalbi next to it, all white with a plastic covering over the patio. That restaurant is called on the map.
I know this is a really bad desription. Home is a pretty easy to find bar also, on the opposite side of the road.
Someone should be able to understand my bad description and give a better one. |

If it helps, that Korean means "house on the hill." |

I'm bumping this thread cos it opens at the end of the month- just had another look at the website, the M2 level alone has the 'biggest dancefloor in Hongdae'- since NB is pretty big, it's got to be about the same as the places I used to go to back in Manchester.
I'm really setting myself up for a fall with my hopes for this place.

There is a better map when you click on news and one of the headlines on the web site. It will be on one of the flyers. The line up of M2 is looking really good so far. My hopes are high for this place too. |

Yeah if the Seoul based people can keep us country folk informed that would be nice - prehaps an opening night date when one is confirmed? |

I don't know if MI have got anything to do with it- I guessed Matmata and Hodge Podge had gone into partnership.
Sounds like little to no hip-hop in the M2 bit, but Hodge-Podge will apparently have both live rappers and DJ sets of pop, alternative, rock and hip-hop. Different target audience to NB I'd guess though. |
