|

Hey guys.
I am just looking for some suggestions on Jeans brands... international or Korean.
Kinda like G-Star Raw or something... unique cuts and different designs with varying pockets etc.
Anything that is not just the regular plain jeans that you usually buy here in Korea. You know... the straight cut with just different color fades and washes with maybe a slight variation of back pockets....
In Sydney there use to be many urban shops with their own brandnames selling these styles, but nothing like that in Korea.
Or does anyone have any good online shop links for suggestions? |

ok ill answer.
the only selvedge Ive seen here is UNIQLO, but Ive read different opninions on them.
you have to go to japan for that stuff, which I do.
true religion type stuff (boutique denim) here is ridiculously high and hard as nuts to find.
I guess Buckaroo Jeans is the best assembled jean here but I dont like them that much, and I dont see many people wearing them. When they started like 5 years back, they had a few nicer models, but they all disappeared, as did their 36in size.
the Evisu Korea shops are fake! there are no Evisu made overseas. Evisu Japan even sued them, but they insisted theyre not the Japan company. Anyway, its crap anyway.
I find Koreans arent into the cut of the clothes as much as the name, but the Japanese are all about the cut of the cloth, which I am too. |

there's a couple apc shops in gangnam and they also just opened one up in hongdae if i remember correctly.
i think some of the department stores also sell nudies or there are tons of fakes around because i spot the pocket stitching multiple times a day.
i only buy jeans once a year or so and i do so at home. so i've never really looked it up much here. i'm sure you'll be able to find anything you're looking for. just expect to pay an extra $30-50. |

From previous experience in and being obsessed with jeans a while back I can give my two cents i suppose:
Diesel has a good range of styles and fits. A bit pricey but with them your basically paying for the cut of the pant since they are just distressed jeans.
You may be interested in Rock and Republic. A bit edgier they have some different pocket designs. Don't know if you'll find them in Korea. William Rast, 7 for all mankind... all pretty standard brands I'm sure you've heard of but that's what comes to mind. I wear plain dark slim jeans in selvedge so I'm not too current with the big jean producers anymore, but these are all ones you should be able to find. Check out sites like asos.com maybe? |
