|
|
Downloaded the US Client. Just changed the realmlist to Korean server.
You have to change the realmlist back to the US servers when its time to update or patch.
There is way to install Korean font into the client. Just working out the kinks in it.
It thought it was interesting how you can start off as a Death Knight in the Korean WoW, but in the US you have to have a level 50 character already.
I've noticed that the quests are easier in the Korean version. The quests where you kill mobs for quest items, every mob you kill drops the quest item. In the US version, 1 out of every 2 you kill drops it.
Also, a couple quests where you have to gather some items, the items are spawned very close together.
I'm guessing Blizzard made the Korean WoW easier to level, considering that most Koreans play by the hour. |

I've been wondering if this is possible for Aion as well. Now that its out in English and more or less the same, I wonder if the language files or something could be swapped. |

1. First you have to go to this page: wow.somegate.com/topic.php?topic_uid=81554.
2. In the first post download the link that says: Andarield_1188739162_wow-enus.zip. It's in yellow words at the very bottom of the first post.
3. After that extract the fonts folder to the desktop.
4. Create a new folder in side the WoW main folder and name it Fonts.
5. Unzip the 4 .TIF files into the newly created fonts folder.
6. Restart your WoW client and you are good to go. |

I'm pretty happy I didn't start playing that game. However I couldn't sign up for the Korean wow, my alien card number was always rejected. |

Get a Korean to sign you up for an account. 1 Korean ID number can have up to 3 accounts (separate from Characters). In their account management screen they can register more accounts. If you have a Korean friend that plays WoW, ask them to register another account for you. Again, this is separate from simply creating a new character.
You have to go to the Wow Accounts page on the website.
FYI, make sure you change the Realmlit file back to US when it is time to patch. After the patch, change it back to the Korean servers. |

As of the latest patch, this is now broken. Blizzard did something and now when you try to login it says, "Can not validate game version". |

Read the post right above. Blizzard changed it so you can't do that anymore.
I know with Starcraft 2, someone figured out a way to "relocalize" the client to be recognized in different regions. I think Stracraft2 and WoW use similar authentication methods. I hope they would make a WoW version. |
