Most people know about the additional paperwork need in 2012 to renew our E-2 visas. (Apostilled diploma copy and Apostilled federal background check)
I had to go back home (US) this past February and I was able to get all this paperwork done in person. I plan to sign on for another year this August 2011 and again in August 2012. My question is can I use my paperwork now to fulfill the new requirements or do I have to wait until 2012 when then govt fully requires it. If I do hold on to the papers, will they expire or be rejected by Korean govt for being out of date? I hope I didnt bust my ass to get this all done and have it not be accepted. |

As far as I know the only one which expires is the Criminal record check which must be less than 6 months old.
That is a pity because as we all know the CRC is the hardest to get. |

You can do it now and you should be good for 10 years (as long as you remain on your same visa (transfers for job changes)).
