I live in Seoul, can anyone suggest a place to find affordable trail hiking shoes? Trail hiking shoes are in-between hiking boots and trail shoes

I've checked dongdaemun (They don't have my size), Itaewon has some lower quality and ridiculous over priced ones, and the mountain side shops are good quality but also pretty pricey.

I just picked up some boots yesterday so I'll try to help you out. I checked out all the places I could: American websites (for prices and information), Korean online shops, Korean authentic dealers, Korean brand dealers, Dong Dae Mun, Do Bong Mountain, department stores, etc. The cheap ones in Dong Dae Mun probably don't have your size, as you said. I think the best bet would be to check the actual dealers in Dong Dae Mun. If that's no go, I would suggest department stores. It sucks because you're looking for affordable but most of the cheaper shoes don't have large sizes.

I was looking for Vasque, Asolo, Merrell, Danner, etc. boots. Fortunately, I found out that Korea has Merrell shoes (only in a small section of most department stores, no outlet or dealer). What is the price range you're looking at?

Try checking out Campline. It's a Korean brand and it's the most popular here and it's actually pretty well-made shoes/boots for an okay price.

I picked up Merrell Sawtooth boots yesterday for 150 thousand won. Retail price in the states go for 110 and you can probably pick them up for 80-90 dollars over there. I wanted to be able to try on the boots before I bought them though - usually a smart idea when buying hiking shoes.
