I will be released from my contract July 17 and I have a friend visiting me from the U.S. We are going to travel for a couple weeks (i.e. Phillipines, Thailand, Cambodia) until my Visa expires - unless I figure out a way to extend it in any capacity.

My question: I've got a lot of luggage that is physically not possible for me to bring when we travel. Hopefully, I can find a friend to stash it while I'm gone for a few weeks, but just in case I need a backup plan... Does anyone know where I can store my luggage? Maybe a cheap storage unit?

Wow.

This must be very new. There are always a million posts asking about self storage.

This should definitely be stickied.

I stopped at the one near the Yangjae Costco about a month ago, just to see what was up.

Seemed pretty similar to many indoor climate-controlled self-storage places in the US. They have CCTV and alarms, and you can use your own lock, so it seems secure enough. They have lots of different sizes available, and you can rent short-term or long-term.

When I stopped, there were two guys working behind the desk. One spoke English pretty well and the other one was a lot more shy, but his English seemed passable.

They said that since it's newly opened, they are running a special where you essentially get two months for the price of one, for the first two months only. One cubic meter was I think around 70,000 won for a month, so it would average out to roughly 35,000 for the two months, which seemed pretty reasonable. They had larger sizes available too, but I don't remember the prices he quoted me.

I asked how long the special would last, and the guy said probably until sometime this fall, or whenever they have around 50% of the units rented out. But I'm sure that could change, so you should definitely ask.

Haven't checked out the website, though, so maybe all of this is redundant.
