|
|
So I'm going to be working long hours in my second stint teaching in Korea and I'm worried about getting burnt out. My question is...If my current teaching job ends up being too much stress for me and I decide to quit, can I just find another position at a different hogwan that will sponsor my visa within a certain period of time? Once you quit, does the visa immediately expire and you have something like 30 days to get a new teaching gig or do you have to leave the country immediately and go through the visa process again?
Help please!
Thanks |

IF you quit AND can get a LOR from your employer you can usually transfer (they usually make you wait till you have completed 6 months of your contract before they allow the transfer).
If you CANNOT get a LOR (and the employer is NOT obligated to give you one) then you cannot transfer until the end of your contract; a new visa application and visa run (to another country to obtain a new visa) will be required.

Thanks! I appreciate your clear, concise answer. I think I'll be fine with the workload, but good to be prepared just in case. |
