Mine sure is. First, I got a noise complaint today (while I was at school) because he turned on my sound system... I think he did it on purpose because he likes to sleep on my subwoofer when it's playing.
Now, he's been sitting in the middle of the floor staring at the florescent light on the ceiling for the past 30 minutes. Every few minutes he reaches up and tries to paw at it.
I'll be the first to admit that my cat in America was somewhat weird, but this cat is a lunatic. |

Ha! You think that's bad...
My cat thinks nothing of meouwing all night long, having loud and frantic arguements out the window with street cats, and to add insult to injury, poking me in the eye at 6am to wake me up for more food...
Hmmm, thinking about it, this is actually normal cat behaviour I think!
Ooooh, but he does like having a shower with me now and again, which is very disturbing |

I have two Korean cats. Both female. Sisters, I think.
Alley seems normal for a cat, regardless of nationality. She knows when her bowl is almost empty and demands that I fill it. She thinks nothing at all of jumping from the floor up to my stomach when I'm on the couch reading--and does that rhythmic push thing on my stomach with her claws. What else am I for? Crawls in my lap when I sit on the floor and talk on the phone. Nips me on the butt when I'm on the computer too long. Every night there is a minimum of 5 minutes of tummy scratching time before I can go to sleep. Her tummy, not mine. I think typical female cat behavior.
But OC is another story. She doesn't like to be picked up. But she demands attention/affection. Example: When I'm on the computer she stands under my chair and meows. Then walks away. Or if I'm reading on the couch, she meows till I look at her, then walks away. I have decided she is autistic. It's the old 'show me love and affection, but don't touch me' syndrome. It may be genetic. We don't like to have our tummy rubbed, but we like to jump down from the top of the closet onto the corner of the bed as soon as I wake up and start meowing for a morning caress. No consideration if I am hung over or otherwise indisposed. It seems very reminiscent of the Princess Syndrome.
(As odd as they may be, it sure is nice to have 'someone' to come home to.) |

Well if yours is rescued or a former street cat that makes them worse.
My little nut is purebreed, so has no excuse. Her big things are humping and sneak attacks. She constantly kinda humps the door frames of the house. The sneak attacks are really funny. She jumps out of hiding and goes flying through the air all spread out like a star and hits you and wraps her paws around you. She never uses her claws so it actually feels kinda nice.
Follow the link to see the amazing flying cat. (not actually flying in photos

My cat showers with me too... And since he attacks "anything" that moves, this can be dangerous for a guy.
Also, I have woken up with him asleep, but his mouth is open and he's "biting" my nose... |

| Having cats for Koreans is not a big thing so most of them probably do not come from the top of the gene pool. |

Your stories make my eyes well up a bit. You guys are so lucky. Gotta love the kitty.
I'm starting to suspect subterfuge with the two birds I received as a gift last month from my landlord/past director: Maybe it's to prevent me from acting on my oft-expressed desire to take care of a cat.
Hmmm, maybe I just need an old, fat cat without an interest in birds. Are there any around? |

Wha...? To survive in Korea is no easy feat. I suspect the cats here are more fit than the pampered kitties back home (though I believe in pampering). |

Survival skills do not imply sanity. |

You're right, not in our age of urbanity, where purchasing processed food is pitched as healthier than hunting for meat. |
