Has anyone used their services for degree/cbc notarization and authenticating/certification services - from abroad?
It appears, though i'm not certain, that they can do this.
I am going to give them a call early in the morning, but i'm wondering if
anyone has done it ?
For those that don't want to return to Canada to get the correct stamps, this information would be helpful.
Cheers ~ |

You'll need your degree and cbc notarized by the Korean Consulate...not Red Seal or any other notary. The only thing they should do for you is notarize a copy of your original diploma, something any Notary Public can do. Having seen how crazy the whole document thing can get with Korean Immigration, not following the protocol could turn into a nightmare.
Mail your documents to the Korean Consulate, they require a prepaid return envelope, and have the Consulate mail them back to you. |

I made an appointment with them here in Canada just a few weeks ago. I was asked to give them 2 times which would be good for me and to choose one of two locations. I finally got a response last minute for a date/time that was not one of my choices and when I tried to contact them to change it I got no reply. I took time off work to get there (at the location I didn't choose) and was told that they couldn't provide the service for me for some reason. This after I specified exactly what I needed done when booking the appointment. It was a huge waste of time.
It's not actually a company in and of itself, it's just a 'service' that lists independent notaries, so there's no reason to go through them and pay more (you're paying two people). I just asked for a reference from the Consulate here and they gave me the card of a guy who did it in 5 minutes for less money. I would suggest you do the same. Call up the Consulate you're using and ask for a recommendation. That way the guy will know exactly what to do. You don't have to be present for it, so you can get a family member or friend here to go in with your original and a copy to get it notarized. Good luck. |

I wasn't clear in my post, but yes, I know that it must be verified by the consulate after it is notarized. me-teacherindeajeon

After checking the consulate websites, they specifically state that they only use Canadian express post. So that nicks me mailing it to them. You must have caught them on a good day for them to bend to make a reasonable exception, though their up-tightness may just be due to an arrangement they have with Canada post. |

It is exactly this service that I needed. I understood that they could have your documents verified with the consulate, for an additional fee, which I would be willing to pay. OP

Unless they will make the trip to the consulate for me then it is a no go. I would have to be working with two consulates (presiding over two different jurisdictions) for this to work and everything being FEDEX'ed. With the distinct possibility of the Winnipeg CBC being denied I have decided to give Korea a pass.
You are in Canada, so it is, if anything, easier to navigate this rigmarole.
Are you heading to a public school, uni or hagwon ? |
