Wasn't it 25,000 ? He said 28,000.

Which is not good since everything is getting more expensive, yet we get paid the same!

I was just asking because is that how everyone is treated, customer service wise, at that restaurant? Or was he treated better, in the video, because he's a blogger? Anyone who's been there, do you have an opinion?

With many expat food bloggers, they get awesome customer service at restaurants because they are known bloggers, and the rest of us get treated poorly. So many get burned by the always positive reviews by expat food bloggers that it seems like the bloggers work for the restaurants. Maybe all of us need to carry around cameras and tell every restaurant that we're food bloggers here to rate their restaurant. Maybe then there'd be some decent customer service at some of these places.

I went there with some friends about a year ago. The service was great, I didn't watch the youtube clip because stuff like that bores me. But no complaints on service. I don't eat meat so I can't comment on the taste, but my friends really enjoyed it. I thought the potatoes and pineapple were good!

Yeah, I've been there and I really liked it. I've also been to Ipanema, behind Deoksoogung, and I would put Brasilia ahead of it. I'll compare the two.

Ipanema has a salad bar with a lot of variety, but none of the options really blew me away (although there was some sushi and sashimi I think, which I don't like but it might impress other people), whereas the salads that they serve at Brasilia are pretty awesome, especially the salsa one.

I also found the service at Ipanema not so great, they're a little slow to bring around new cuts of meat, and you don't get that much each time they come. Brasilia's a pretty small restaurant and it was always easy to get someone to attend to you. The steaks get smaller after the first three, but it doesn't really matter because you can get as many as you like. And they cook the pieces how you want them, so if you want medium rare and your partner wants well done, they'll do it.

Good to hear from some others about Brasilia. I wasn't trying to bust qiranger's chops about this video. I like his videos. It's just that so many other bloggers love everything about every restaurant and I didn't want to make a big trip there to be disappointed. You know what I mean.

I went to Brasilia once in 2008. Their service was fine. It was interesting seeing a lot of fat Koreans in one place, too. I remember that they had a rule then about having to ask for more steak after the fourth one, but they obliged without any griping. They didn't give my friends and me the foreigner treatment at all.

"Known expat bloggers" i think you give them far too much credit. The majority of the business for places like Brasilia comes from Koreans not expats. And they could care less what the expat bloggers say. Unless of course you start writing stuff on Wingbus. Razz

Sao Paulo (the restaurant) is my place for churrasco (if that's how you spell it). It's at the Seoul National University of Education stop, exit 14. Walk about a hundred meters- it's on your right, next to an eyeglass store, I think.

25,000W for the steak dilly, and 3,000 for all the beer you want.

http://www.bfr.kr/

It's 28K Won inclusive indeed.
Perhaps it used to be 25K until recently, but hey, what's not rising these days except for your salary?

Do any of these other Brazilian steak joints have an unlimited drink special?

Brasilla is one of those 'special' restaurant in Korea that make you feel you are outside korea for a few moments. Food is good but what makes the difference was the service. Its very western oriented and I felt guilty leaving without leaving a good tip. Also, the style is very western, lots of english floating around, etc. Only thing I wanted was some hearty side dish (i.e baked potato or baked beans).

Overall, really worth a trip once in a while when the carnivore rears its head.

Similar price to that of Carny station (R.I.P) minus the booze. But here you leave with a happy stomach instead of one full of crappy booze.

people like brasilia? seriously? personally i thought it was a waste of money. the only thing that was good was the side dishes, rice and salsa. they just bring you steak. 3 different cuts when i went. just steak. no guys walking around with skewers of various meats. very meh.

mercado in apgujeong and copacabana in itaewon piss all over brasilia.

Yeah that's like totally mega ultra cool, but if you've never been to something comparably better, it's not as though Brasilia is some slop that's going to make you puke into your mouth and then give yourself a puke enema with the spittle. I'd drink it if it were made into a liquid.
