Ugggh, I'm so sick of slow internet. My last house in Seoul had this blazing fast connection. I could start streaming a movie and didn't have to pause for it to load it was that fast. I downloaded entire series in a matter of minute. Man, those were the days.
Then I went to Thailand and Thailand is notorious for having the worst internet connection on the planet. My movie and tv watching came to a complete stop. I thought once I got back to Korea, even in a new part of town, that everything would be back to normal. Sadly, the internet here is only slightly faster than Thailand.
I'm sick of this. I want to be able to download my movie in a few minutes. And I want my fast internet to go wherever I go.
As I understand it, 3G laptop cards are mobile wireless cards that connect your computer to the 3G networks usually used for phones. My SK 3G connection is pretty good. I wouldn't mind having the option of using that on my netbook.
Do I have the definition of 3G cards correct? Also, does anyone offer those in Seoul? How much do they cost?
We live in the year 2011. I shouldn't have to put up with an internet connection that is only slightly better than dial up.  |

| I do not think cards(express/PCMCIA) are common. I think USB sticks and separate egg looking devices are common. I do not have 3G but my advice is if you are going with SK or KT then talk to them and then they will sell/set up your service with the needed device. If they do not sell try buying a 3G modem off of dealextreme.com or just go to yongsan and look around. |

Where do you live? Which provider are you currently using? What sort of plan do you have and how much are you paying per month? If your speeds are slower than they should be then complain and see if they can fix it. If that doesn't work I would suggest switching to another provider in your home before you consider 3G. Surely there will be other options to choose from. 3G should be the last resort for many reasons.... more expensive, data usage limitations, network availability/congestion, and the max speeds are significantly slower than what you can get with a wired connection. |
