yet?

This place just opened up in my neighborhood. I don't live anywhere NEAR itaewon and OH MY GOD is it amazing.

New York SIZED pizza and portions.

Tastes better than anything I've yet to have in Seoul.

The place looks EXACTLY like the eatery in Costco. They even have that onion crank that Koreans love.

Pizzas are 14,500 and are a steal considering the size, quality, and amount of servings. Pizzas in places like Mr Pizza and Pizza Hut tastes like GARBO compared to this place and cost more!

600 won for a drink (free refills).

They also sell hotdogs, buffalo wings, and bulgolgi and chicken rolls. I've only tried the bulgolgi roll but it honestly tastes like a giant beef and cheese hotpocket and is GODLY.

They are doing a LIMITED TIME promotion because it's the grand opening: If you can finish a pizza in less than 15 minutes you get 1,000,000won. Apparently 1 person has done it and the promotion is still on. Link to said promotion http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2agrciq&s=7

This must be a new chain, because I've never run into it here and I'm thanking God this place opened up right next to me. I can't put into words how much ownage this pizza shop is. Get out there and try it.

I live in Miasamgori on the 4 train. It makes no sense because I live in a purely Korean neighborhood. I'm from the States, have lived in NYC and know what REAL pizza tastes like. This place is the real deal.

By the way, and yes I'm generalizing, if a Korean was able to complete that eating contest I'm sure as hell that a few weigooks here could do it (you know who you are).

Here ya go.

http://www.pinchpenny.co.kr/main/index.php

Looks like a shameless, shameless rip-off of costco, down to the bake toppings (stuffings?) I mean that in a good way.

The store locator doesn't seem to work, even on IE, but if you allow pop-ops it shows you the five locations, or at least the general areas: 미아, 부천, 방이, 자양, and 건대. Unfortunately none remotely near me, but I'd be there in a second if they were closer!

then you would know this is not REAL PIZZA!

Sbarro is here in seoul.. but I still wouldn't call that REAL New York style.

.

don't use the word AUTHENTIC NEW YORK style pies so loosely around here.. some people get upset.

I just checked the site.. it's COSTCO pizza.. not new york pizza..
please don't confuse the two..

guess this Korean guy who opened it had a brain fart, COSTCO, EMART ohh I know.. I'll rip off costco and franchise it...

just what we need, more over priced crap pizza.
I'll stick with pizza school.

Penny Pinchers? Shocked ... that's the name of a secondhand store in my home town.

I love pizza school. Everyone says the ingredients are shit quality, but the pizza is dirt cheap, reasonably sized, and tastes pretty damn good, particularly the stuffed crust.

They're tough to find north of the river though, but by chance, I just happened to move about 5min walking from the one in Hongdae. *Schwiinnngggg*

Sounds good, but when I hear "Costco knockoff" it doesn't exactly scream Grimaldi's.

This place >>>> Pizza School. Better than Sbarro as well.

But enjoy your $5 pizza. I have enough pizza to last me all week, I can actually taste tomatoes in the sauce, and it doesn't taste like it was baked on a giant saltine cracker.

You just gave me a great idea for tomorrow's lesson: irony.

They sell very good 18 inch pizzas in almost all Emarts and Homepluses now for 10,900 won. That's a hell of a deal.

I would definitely try out this new place if it opened up in my area.

Whereabouts is the one in Mia? Quick look at the website...looks like they don't deliver (probably can't get pizzas that big into a typical delivery bike box!). Wink

1,000,000 to finish a pizza in 15 minutes? They obviously didn't have foreigners in mind when they set that up...
