Does any one know where the black market for MREs is by Camp Casey? Namdaemun is doable but it's still pretty far for me, then I've gotta lug em home.
I've got a 5 day hiking / backpacking / camping trip planned. Closest town will be a 1 hr bus ride or 2 hr hike to town. MREs might be a bit heavy but for the size (Including all the pots and butane burners I'd otherwise have to bring) and calorie content, I can't think of any other food that comes close.
Edit:
Including: Bosan (Closer to Camp Casey), or Soysoan (There's a big open air market there)

Mre's aren't THAT heavy. Plus you could field strip them (basically, take everything out of the bag and take only what you need).
Sorry, I have no clue where you could buy them in those cities, but I figured I would throw out the field stripping suggestion. |

That's a good idea, an average MRE is what, 1400 calories? As long I get at least 1000 per meal that should be enough. |
