Hi,
Where do you live?
Do you have to have it registered with the government? Is that what you mean by registered with KT? Did they give you a certificate for it?
How much is your service plan for it with KT?
Thanks. |

anyone can chime in on this, but it was to my knowledge that korea did away with the whole government regulated "black listing" of phones. As long as it it unlocked and it is a phone that is provided by a carrier, it can be registered under that carrier and be used.
I had it registered at Olleh main branch in Kangnam, did not receive a certificate, did not have to pay for one like the iphone 3g/3gs issue couple years ago. Popped in my sim card which is under the plan of i미디엄 (iMedium), and it worked fine. |

Thanks,
So basically when you signed up with KT, the sim card was part of the contract?
How much was your contract?
I'm interested but don't know a lot about this, so I want some more information. |

The phone is not under any contract. I'm under a contract with my iphone 3gs. After registering the phone with KTF, i was able to use my sim car (from iphone 3gs) with the dell streak. It means that its a contract free machine and you can take it to either KTF (already registered) or SKT (you would have to register the phone with them), get a sim from either of them and start using the phone. You woudldn't have to sign a contract with either of those companies, you could be on a month to month basis with either of them. You could also give me a ring and i could better explain it to you. |

Pop in to a KT branch, pay around 10k for the sim card, choose which plan you want on your phone and you're good to go. No contract because you aren't purchasing a subsidized phone. |
