Anybody set up port forwarding on their Korean router? I have a Mac and an ipTime router and have been trying to do it.

If you have done so, how difficult is it to do?

check www.portforward.com and see if there is a listing for your router or one by the same manufacturer. Their walkthrus are easy to follow with screencaps and most router manufacturers have very similar interfaces for all the models they produce.

Not sure if this applies to your model. The information you're looking for is on page 67.

Is your router English or Korean, can you read Korean?

Port forwarding is pretty simple, point a browser to your router (whatever its ip is, 192.168.1.1 for example) log in, go to the security tab and forward the desired ports to your computers IP address.

Thanks a lot for the replies. I think I was successful in my port forwarding. The reason I was attempting to do this is because I have suddenly run into problems using uTorrent. I currently can not download ANYTHING and I simply do not know what to do!

Does anybody have any tips on troubleshooting uTorrent? When I check my preferences on my port, it is orange and it tells me that I have "No Incoming Connections." This happened suddenly and after trying various ports, nothing has worked.

I have also had problems downloading recently. Some trackers are fine, but others don't work. Not sure exactly whats going on. LG started putting new cables in my building so, I thought maybe that had something to do with the problem.
My router is being weird and not letting me into the settings. So, I can't even try to check my ports although utorrent says it is fine.

This still sounds like you have not resolved any port forwarding issues.

What port have you opened? Try testing it here to see if it is open:

Does uTorrent run slow, or does it not run at all? If its running slow then your router is probably blocking incoming connections, if it is not running at all (like it doesn't download anything) then there is another problem.

There are a bunch of things that may be happening, if you use private trackers for example, they may have banned you for not uploading enough or something.

SK Telecom blocks the ports somewhere so I can't download anything with Utorrent internationally (but if I hook up with a local tracker in Korea, I get blazing speed). If I use my Astrill VPN, and forward the ports with that, then I'm good to go.

I should also mention that UPnP (although an arguable security risk) is designed to alleviate the need to forward individual ports. Most modern routers should support this and uTorrent definitely does.

Just another option to avoid having to much around with manual port forwards and should help you isolate the cause of the problem.
