i'm sure many of you know what i'm talking about. when you ask a question, or make a comment to your co teacher, their immediate response is "yes, yes." even if you're not asking a yes or no question, they will respond with yes yes.

"when does my vacation start?"
"yes, yes"

i just had a 5 minute conversation with a co teacher that SHOULD'VE been 30 seconds, but she's a YYS (yes yes syndrome)

any solutions??

I always have the impression that no one is actually listening to what I say.

They just say, "Yes, yes."

You need to say to her: 안제 나의 방학 시작해요?

언제 나의 방학 시작해요

Also, I don't think he should need to say it in Korean. She is his co-teacher, after all, and, seeing as she has studied English much longer than he has studied Korean, I think it is her responsibility to understand enough English to facilitate basic communication.

That's actually great. If she's hot ask her to go out on Saturday night?
A "yes-yes" works for me Smile

Co-teacher would be a bit too old for you, no?

Perhaps she is using English words like she would use Korean words? Saying ne/ye every few seconds while listening to someone is completely polite in Korean and shows that you're paying attention. Maybe she is just trying to show you she's a good listener by saying yes?

she cant answer any questions but she wont take responsibility if she misinforms you.

ANY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS ASK THE HIGEST PERSON YOU CAN.

and stop thinking English teachers really speak "your" English. Some do, most dont.

so when i ask her a non yes or no question, and she responds yes yes and then there's a pause, i should just assume that she's paying attention and understands what i'm saying?

right.

The first response I chuckled at but now there are two so you people need to be seriously clued in about something.
It's all part of the plan. If she is hot I can always find out if she has a younger sister or younger friends. I am not interested in dating a teacher...they are too authoritative. I like to be in total control.
