I've decided I want to give paragliding a try this summer so I've been doing some research on the net. I've found a couple of schools near Yongin that have English webpages (FlyKorea and Airfield) but I thought I'd ask on here before I book anything.
I'd like to try an introductory course, and according to the 2 sites mentioned above, they range from 4 to 7 days.

If any of you have tried paragliding in Korea, can you offer any recommendations or advice to someone just starting out?

Also, as I live in Gangwondo on the coast, I'd prefer to learn out here if there are any schools that have instructors who can teach in English. I know they paraglide out of Yeongwol and Pyeongchang, but I'm not aware of any schools there offering English instruction. If any of you know of one, please let me know.

Thanks

I have just booked lessons with Jonathan Paragliding, he operates in pyeongchang and had been very efficient at getting back to my e-mails. The lessons are booked for a few weeks time so i'll let you know how it goes and how good his English is. I am also based on the east coast, Sokcho area. This is his website http://jonathansky.com/bbs/zboard.php?id=english

Perfect! I'll check out that website and get in touch with him. I'm in Donghae, so Pyeongchang is way more convenient than having to go all the way to Yongin.
Thanks a lot

We did two days of the pro 1 course this weekend and I was very impressed, we had 1 - 1 instruction a lot of the time and the owners wife translating for us all the way through. The training programme is VERY thorough in preperation for guided solo flying on the last day of the course. We did loads of ground handling with wings, practiced launch and landing procedure on a suspended harness, watched ppts, watched people launch and land and had two tandem flights to experience glider control ( i landed ours!). The accommodation is also very nice, located in an 'art valley' in a modern building overlooking the valley and surrounding mountains.
Basically, I couldn't have been more pleased! Very Happy

Thanks for letting me know how it went. It sounds like they've got a pretty good setup.
I've been in contact with them and I just have to choose a weekend to start.
