Ok, so I'm leaving next week and the time has come where I start packing. I happen to be a fashionista snob type, so the thought of parting with clothes is "oh so terrible~!" But I found a solution to make packing so much more efficient:

SPACE BAGS!

They're like these giant ziplocs that you can shove a bunch of your stuff into, then you vacuum out the air and BOOM! Like magic, my piles of crap became flat and super easy to throw into my suitcase; also meaning that I can fit even MORE crap Wink

But seriously, if you're stressing about space I'd recommend at least giving Space Bags a shot.

my "hyper space bag" is more futuristic than yours.

you can "zap" your stuff like your clothes, car, furniture, etc. into ionized matter and store it in the fourth dimensional space. And leave it remaining there until you arrive at your destination. then you can "unzap" the ionized matters out of the fourth dimensional space and turn them back into what it was before. this device allows you to travel without any clumsy bags. Razz

Unless you are American (they get more baggage allowance / 50kg per person for international flights to/from the states/Canada) the biggest problem is weight (20kg max per person) and not space.

From Urban Dictionary: "DISPOSOPHOBIA is a mental issue that affects millions. Often the word hoarder is mis used by the media and writers when they really should be useing the word Disposopohobia. The Fear of Getting Rid of Stuff."

Potentially fits the bill, but it'll be the most fashionable clutter EVER Wink

I've used space bags before. And now I just pack ultra light and don't waste money on junk that stops working properly immediately after unboxing seen on infomercials at 4AM.

I am curious about people who use the term "fashionista." Do you have a lookbook account? I want to know what your style is that cannot be parted with. ^^

Whoa... These don't mess up the space/time continuum at all? Are all ionized particles accounted for after the zap?
