Tonight, after the fact, I learned DMC of RUN DMC performed at the Hard Rock Cafe in Itaewon.

The Hard Rock in Seoul website listed NOTHING for events or concerts. I don't find regular, credible info on concerts in Korea on any single site. Am I missing something?

Who are people using for regular concert and show info in Korea? Nothing seems consistent.

Is it true that Dave's mods delete concert info from this site? Shouldn't there be a concert sticky, not a void of info?

for some years now that's the way the E news media reports cultural events - after the fact

go figure - it only seems to be that way in the E-speaking media - kind of like how tkts for sale on E websites are only several weeks after the K websites are up and running, often too late for E speakers to buy good seats, or even tkts.

I've pretty much given up anyway - attending stuff here just isn't worth it - people don't appreciate the artists - it's all show and be seen, too much phoniness -

just let it go and make a point of checking out events the next country you visit on holiday then have a good time.

At that point, a Hard Rock representative came out and said that since DMC was obviously new to Korea and couldn�t be expected to know what hot issues the beef and FTA issues were, the question should be dropped. The Korean press corps had pushed for a re-answer three times. No one except for the Korea Herald reporter even asked any questions relevant to his actual music.

Of course, that�s how NoCut News reported it, and took his quote completely out of context, with a headline that read: �DMC says �In the importation of American beef�the safety of the people is most important.�� Grrrr. They treated it as if he had just offered a comment on it of his own volition, and hadn�t been ambushed into an answer that was far more political than he could have been reasonably expected to know.

I hate being the last to know about concerts and shit, trying to find consistent information is impossible. Then again, consistency and Korea are like oil and water....

There's this website, but it's in Korean. However, you can see pix of the artists that will be in town and then maybe get a Korean friend to help you navigate the website and buy tix?

You can also find information about upcoming musicals, plays, sporting events and other public performances.
