I teach a conversation lesson to a boy whose father also has a Korean man come before me for an hour to teach him English too. Whenever I say hello to this man leaving the apartment, he gives me one of the worst snubs, like I'm showing him up. I feel like knocking him out.

At the gym the other day, an older man who I was friendly with and speaks a great deal of English, wanted to show me a bicep excercise and wanted me to do it. I told him repeatedly that I worked biceps yesterday with a smile and thanked him and only did the excercise once but with great enthusiasm...the golden rule everyone knows is you NEVER work the same muscle in consecutive days. Now he won't talk to me...very mature.

On another note, when will the adult dignified Korean business man cease to try to impress his buddies by drinking until he pukes again and again and then throwing up everywhere on the subway. I thought we all learned the lesson of the wrath of alcohol back in school...and why is it that bragging about how many bottles of Soju one can drink is almost the Korean substitute for talking about the size of one's member.

On a side note, is anyone getting tired of Adult Korean men picking their nose and non-chalantly, eating it??

I hear ya... The "friendship" (usually forced on you) of a the average Korean man depends on you doing exactly what he wants, especially when there are people watching. Its a very formalised thing.
I have zero interest in being friends with korean men, (sorry to say.)

Yes, because western men are so mature. All the braying and yeehawing over sports; the intellectual discussions about Ren and Stimpy by 30 year old geeks; the foreigner I saw who asked for a plain McD's burger, got it with no ketchp or mustard but discovered it had the pickle so he fired inot the kitchen area and kicked over the sign on his way out; the pretentious snobbery when joked at about teaching 7 year-olds how to say colors and numbers past ten as if that were a real job; get over yourselves.
I've seen some pickers but I've never seen any eaters. I've also seen plenty of pickers in Virginia and there you do get the occassional eater. Can't handle the fact that you're not in the Great North Woods, or Dillfuk< Neb., or Wackadong, Aussie? Go the F home.

Chill out, it wouldn't have hurt for you to listen to him while he showed you the bicep excercise, you didn't have to work that muscle that day, but its cool to learn new excercises for next time, because another gym rule is that you should change your excercises regularly. Chill kiddirts, it doesn't hurt to be cool about things.

You see jackasses getting p*ss drunk everywhere.

Nose-picking, not something I notice really.

Was that really the best you could do? Respond to the argument by listing off the peculiarities of a fringe part of western society? Anyone who has been here for a few months at most knows that a large number of Korean men are men-children. I know you may feel more wordly and liberal knocking western values but when it comes to the local guys the proof is in the pudding angry man.
