Morning all

I am looking for a charactertures (spelling?) shop in Seoul, I'm designing a picture for a friend and would like to give my idea to someone to draw (my art skills are fairly low). Bare in mind I'm looking for a shop rather than an outdoor artist that you always see as I've got some specific designs. Any ideas where I can go?

That did sound suspiciously like a request for the correct spelling.

Try walking around Insadong. I've seen people doing them there before.

1. Trust Captain Corea on this. He's got some serious artistic skills.

2. Some of the outdoor artists I've seen in Korea can be quite talented. There was a guy in the Hongdae free market that drew some awesome caricatures. Last year I hired two former Disney artists to do caricatures for a party I was throwing. I paid about $600 for them for 2 hours work and this guy would blow away anything they did at 7,000 won per picture.

I don't know why you'd want to use a "shop" specifically (I've never seen one anyway, as it's not really how caricature artists operate). What happens is a person will own a booth and bring local and international artists in to staff it. There's a great woman who runs the booths in Insadong, Namsan, Myeongdong, and I think somewhere in Jamsil near that theme park, Lotteworld. The artists are all tops. Some are practicing artists in their own right and others are art teachers. They do the caricature gig for some extra cash, usually, and are generally talented in a myriad of unexpected ways, so you needn't worry about their flexibility. Just hit up one of the booths. You'll have time to talk over your great big "design concept" or whatever if you get them on a slow day when there's been rain.
