Hi everyone
A new guy started in our hagwon last week (last Monday) and he was meant to do his medical check today. However, he lost his passport over the weekend, and we don't know how long it will take to get a replacement or emergency passport. Our principal says the medical check has to be done within 15 days of arrival, but it says on the gonetokorea website that we do have 90 days, but some schools may require it sooner. My question is, do we officially have 90 days to do it even if the school wants it asap? Or does it cause problems getting registered with the school or something like that? Thanks |

K immi requires the medical check to get an ARC card. As far as I know officially no one else cares about the health check. Your best bet is to go talk to the local K immi office and inform them of what happened. If you are worried you might ask the hogwan owner(hopefully an older korean male) to come along for the conversation with K immi. As long as the new passport only takes a week or two to replace K immi will probably not make huge situation out of the lost passport. |

You need your ARC application completed within 90 days of arrival.
You need the medical for the ARC (nothing else).
There is no panic. You can do it up to about the 50 day mark (provided there is no chance of a false positive on your test requiring you to re-test).
There is NO requirement to get it done within 15 days of arrival.
