My friend and I are planning to visit Morocco in October and we're wanting to do a tour. We found a great 10 day tour online for $800 that we are considering, but I was wondering if anyone here had gone and knows if it's better to get a tour once you're in the country? I know some places (Borneo comes to mind) are much cheaper if you book a tour when you get there as opposed to booking in advance. |

Wait until you get there. I did a week-long tour of Morocco with two girls a few years back. We had a personal driver (I sat shotgun 100% of the time due to my gender, ridiculous scenic views), got a number of free meals, rode camels through the Sahara, and spent a night in a tent out there in the desert. $250, and one of the best experiences of my life. This was all through a guy I met on the ferry to dirthole Tangier. There should be plenty of options when you get there though. It's a stunning place, have a good time. |

I used to live in Morocco. Great place and pretty easy to tour independently, the trains/buses go everywhere and are really cheap. I used a company called Desert Dream for a Sahara tour, it was amazing http://www.sahara-desert-dream.com/marrakech.htm |

Do it yourself. Get a guidebook, a buddy, and have fun. Guided tours are for old women. |
