Interesting. From reading the article, it sounds like Korean women think that there are not enough well-educated men with prestigious jobs. So many remain single..... |

| Maybe the urban ladies will be inspired by what the rural men have been doing and start importing husbands. Only instead of importing 20-year olds from Vietnam, they'll import 30-year olds from first world countries. I bet someone could make a lot of money opening a hagwon where all the teachers were single males with masters or doctorate degrees and advertise it as a language/match-making institute. "Come talk a while, then walk the aisle." |

We, single and well-educated men of Dave's, should really do our best to make our services and hearts available for these poor women. Well, I'm sure many of us already do so in a more unorganized way, but...
Korea should really import well-educated men, just as they import not so well-educated but young and pretty women from various SEA countries. |

| Ive heard this before. I worked at a business English hagwon in Gangnam for two years. I met alot of these women. Sometimes Id go out with them for a drink or whatever. I do find they are intelligent, well spoken, and the like, but theyre also rather dull. They dont really have interesting hobbies or things theyre interested in, besides a career and their position and connections. It was rather disappointing. I also feel/felt there was a secret string behind their backs (their mothers) whether in real life or in teaching dictating who is a good match for them. Oh well. |

The article adds to my opinion that blind dates are generally a waste of time. What ever happened to the Moonies? They had the right idea. Round everyone up in a stadium and pair them off.
The article does fail to show a picture of Miss Ahn, which doesn't help. How are we to judge? |

I'm starting to feel that Korean women are rather dull. Every time I try to talk about something interesting, she either calls me weird or says she just wants to talk about us.
How intellectually non-stimulating. |

That's not it for me though... not the direction I was going in. Rather it's about the dating tier system that a lot of ppl (sort of) use.
It's ok for a tier 1 guy to marry the same tier or one below. But eventually that trickles down to the bottom tier of guys not able to find a suitable mate.
Likewise, the tier 1 female is often left out. |

does anyone else get the impression that these types of women have an unrealistic self-perception? ooooh, you're well-educated and have a government job - big deal. if anything, that just makes their
"princess syndrome" worse.
they should get over themselves and slum it with some drunk foreign men. that'll loosen them up! (and get me back the self-esteem i so desperately crave . . .)
