Hi Guys,

Would any of you have the requirements for the E-2 Visa? I'm planning on going to Korea in about a month (as soon as I get my apostilled CBC back). I want to know what the official documents are, so I can send them.

I appreciate it.

You didn't say where you were from so I assumed you were from the states (slightly different rules/requirements for other countries).

- (national/FBI) CBC (less than 6 months old) with apositlle.
- copy of your Bachelors degree with apostille.
- copy of your passport information page.
- passport type photos
- (for the consulate: 2 sealed copies of your transcripts)
- resume
- medical questionnaire

Your employer may ask for more (common if you are applying for PS positions).

Yeah, something's fishy about you man.

You ask about documents, but you already know about getting your CBC apostilled. So you've either read that you need that or you've talked to a recruiter. Either way you will have found out what other documents you need by now, especially considering you say you want to be here within a month.

Also, why make 3 different posts about teaching GMAT? That's a very very very slim market here. There are probably just a handful of teachers that do that and to get that kind of job they probably have connections somewhere or are teaching at universities. So if you're hoping to land that kind of gig right away, you better know a ton of people or be a really lucky person.

And why make you screen name the name of the forum you're on? That one is really odd. It's as if you want no identity, no matter how anonymous it can be.

Trolling maybe? But something is definitely odd about you.

1st change of status since Dec. 2010 then you get a pass on the FBI check and apostilled degree copy.

2nd (or subsequent) change of status and you have to either have submitted them already or will be required to submit them for your 2nd change (since Dec. 2010).

New visa application (with visa run) and they are required.

Currently, to renew/extend your E2 you will need:
ARC
passport
new contract (with end date clearly indicated).
employer sponsorship form (guarantee form)
Employer business registration (copy)
application
30k won

IF Kimmi wants an FBI check from you or the apostilled copy of your degree they will inform you of the fact when you extend your E2 (they will make you sign an acknowledgment of said fact).

Decolyon,

1. I'm asking these questions because a few recruiters have told me differently.

Some only ask for the CBC to be apostilled; some ask for all documents to be apostilled.

Some ask for college transcripts; some don't.

I want to know what the standard answer is, so I can have everything ready to send off when my CBC check comes in.

2. I also have an anonymous name because I know some employers check these forums. I want to be able to ask open questions; but, I don't want there to be any information that can be used against me.

I hope you can understand that.

-2 "official" transcripts from your university (still sealed) for the consulate.
-copy of your passport
-passport type photos
-resume

Wait, so if I have been at the same hagwon since August and am moving to an EPiK school this coming August with no changes between, I don't need an FBI check or a new degree apostille? Am I following you correctly? I finally got a police station to fingerprint me on a Saturday, but I'm still lost on getting my degree authenticated within Korea, so that would be awesome news.

Tom, thanks, and if I'm asking a question that has been asked previously, I apologize, I've been pretty sick for 4 days now.

What if I'm a Canadian, currently in Korea on a E-2 visa changing employers September 1?

You should be fine for a transfer with the usual documents. If they want new CBC/degree documents they will tell you at that time that you will need to get them.
