I've read there aren't many places to stay around Gangbyeong subway station.

Is this info up to date?

I'm going to be arriving after midnight, and I need somewhere to crash for the night.

Then I need to get on Line 2 the next morning, so staying near the terminal would be convenient.

Comments?

1) Walk towards Gu I station from Technomart (around 7 minutes)
You should see a motel near the intersection close to the post office

2) Or walk towards the north side of the Olympic Bridge (around 15 minutes)
Walk up towards the Grand Children's Park and you'll see another motel

If you're not that concerned about the price, and opt for convenience instead,
Check out the 동서울 관광호텔 located just behind the bus terminal

I'll take a stab at this. Theres a decent standard-price motel I've used several times quite near the terminal. (Name escapes me.)

Coming out of the terminal, cross the street towards the subway station, go left to the first light, & turn right up that street. After 2 or 3 blocks you'll come to an odd 3-street intersection with lots of restaurants. You can spot the motel to your left from there.
